Now that I'm back home and not working for a few days, I thought I'd add a slightly different perspective. I will add the disclaimer that I consider myself a good friend of Mike Lean's, but I had no knowledge of any of this business until the last day of the tournament. I'll also add that as a psych student, my perspective will inevitably be coming

I don't think that's accurate. It may have been part of the evidence, but Jim Geary put forth very specific compelling eyewitness testimony, detailing exactly what he saw and how he caught Patrick cheating. There really wasn't any gray area about it. Hodges provided no convincing defense of his actions. In fact his behavior and responses only served to further remove doubt of his guilt.

i provided what i thought was convincing testimony back in my 09 incident, along with at least 2-3 other players in our incident reports, and there was just a slap on the wrist for the offending player, who had already had a history of cheating when he was younger. i don't understand why nothing more was done other than the fact that perhaps i am not as respected as jim geary.

Cesar, I was on the AB when that decision was reached. I assure you that the reports were taken very seriously. All I can tell you is that collectively, the AB concluded that there was not convincing enough evidence to be certain that the player was cheating. A strongly worded warning letter was issued to that player, stating, in part, that future violations of the proper drawing technique would be subject to suspension.

At least two other players have been suspended for cheating since that time, so clearly it's not an issue that NASPA takes lightly.
