I'm trying to get into it, but my interest in Scott and his relationship is less than zero. I don't like him because he's as dumb as a box of rocks and I don't tend to give a fig about teen romances.

Though, Derek is hot.

I think I'd like this show better if Scott wasn't the lead. Or in it at all.

they lay off the Scott/Allison in S2 a bit. and Scott is surprisingly not as dumb as he seems to be. he totally grew on me (just saying. because yeah, I totally get you)

I like Derek because he's hot and intense and broody in the way I tend to like... And Scott is a total....teen. I guess. He's just a dumbass, basically. And I don't enjoy him at all.

Yeah, that was a large part of my problem with it. The Scott/Allison romance is just AWFUL too. Dire. I do like some of the other characters - really mainly Lydia (who is my favourite) and Stiles and Derek. I could easily slash Sterek even though they don't have as much screen time as I expected.

But Scott is a bit of a problem. In S2, it's definitely less about him and more about the ensemble although he is still the lead but he seems a tad less annoying.

I think also that for me, watching young teen love depicted onscreen is a bit like watching paint dry but more exasperating *g*. That's just me though!

I'm wondering if I should just skip the show, and read the fanfic. Because, wow, this show is like...getting your favourite meal covered in mushrooms (I'm allergic)...so, the enjoyable parts are ruined by dumb.

Scott is the main problem of the show in S1, and since he's the lead, it's...well. But he is marginally less important in S2, and to me, it's a bit like True Blood, in which I don't really care about Sookie but I love the minor characters. I watch TW for everybody orbiting around Scott, not for Scott himself. Allison's individual story arc in S2 is awesome, too.

To be fair you could skip the show and just read the fic, but the show has grown on me a lot.

I keep trying and then end up turning the show off midway in an episode or fast forwarding. Scott is just. Ugh. And the make out scenes aren't my cuppa. They look so young and it makes me feel skeevy. lol.

I was told to watch the first five eps, then read the fanfic. I totally thought the pairing of choice was Scott/Stiles until I checked AO3. But yeah, I hear season 2 is actually good. Haven't seen it yet because I watch the show on Netflix.

Same here. I am watching, slowly, on Netflix, because I can only take so much dumb before I overdose.

I ran into Derek/Stiles fanfic first, so was very surprised when I figured out that it was supposed to be all about Scott.
