So, yesterday was interesting. My mum, dad, and kid were all over for a Pre-Single's Awareness Day gift thing. (My mum has always given me and Trina gifts on Feb 14th...nothing big. Mostly just candy or clothes.) She gave me a Patriots doormat and Patriots towel ( Read more... )

I feel pretty much exactly the same, but I try not to get too worked up about this shit because I can't change it. The idea of it now being a prerequisite to be religious if you want to run the US is terrifying, not to mention how absolutely certain so many people are of what they're saying. I saw a comment the other day about how '51 thousand babies' had been 'murdered' in the US due to abortions, and I wanted very badly to ask the commenter how many of those babies he or she would be willing to raise. But I didn't because I knew it would only result in grief for me and absolutely nothing would change.

Which does nothing to help you feel better, I realize. But you are very much not alone. I can't stand how paragons of White Male Privilege feel that they should dictate how other people can love or choose to have or not have babies.
