This is usually the reaction (direct or indirect) to any claiming of mine that I prefer to write men instead of women because I don't relate to women in most texts/shows.
Amen, sister! I just can't indetify with the way female characters are written in shows. Like, for example, 99% of them don't feel... "fulfilled" until they have a husband and a brood of children - and the 1%? There just has to be something... wrong with them *rolls eyes*
The whole "if you don't write women and don't want to write women, you're misogynist/unfeminist" argument pisses me off so hard. It's sanctimonious and nothing else; there is zero value in making such an argument because it wins NO ONE over and accomplishes nothing except make the poster feel proud of her own ~progressiveness~. It always amazes me how many self-proclaimed feminists routinely attempt to forcefully impose their own views on the women around them. >:|
Just another day of cred-carding for minority groups. Instead of fighting against the real issues, we need to patrol our own and make sure they're "fill-in-the-blank" enough to be counted.
I went through a time like this. I found it hard to relate to other women, because of the entire family/fulfullment/juggling career kind of thing that totally turned me off
