It's such a nasty thing to do, voting against giving rights to someone else... honestly I never felt more proud being Spanish than when we approved the Gay Marriage Law. I hope things improve over there soon
Ugh, I kind of don't want to see it go to the all the way up to the supreme court right now, because seeing who's on the SC right now..it'd probably lose. :|
i totally agree, and it hurt this morning to see that on the news. :( still, i look at last night's election, and i know that progress is being made. we may be at the one step forward, two steps back phase right now, but i believe that it'll happen: maybe not now, maybe not soon, but definitely someday. &hearts
I agree with you in every sense of the word, so please do not take this the wrong way. The argument, the *main argument, about allowing gay marriage is that it would actually create unequal pay rates within the family homes. Our nation, despite its progress, still has many inequalities to deal with. The dispute is that women are not paid the same amount in all careers as men are. This is where the bigots say that two men would bring more money to a household than that of a man and women (more so than that of two women). So instead of saying, “Let’s make sure that men and women are paid equally in America,” the bigots proclaim that it would simply not be fair. I do not agree with this at all; I’m a woman and I feel in no way inferior to men and their salaries.
*by main I refer to the legal bull shit that they are using in order to refuse gay marriage without bringing in religion and the “unnaturalness” of it. As I said, bull shit.
