I just voted. Already, our town has had double the voters it normally gets. I think this is a beautiful thing. When I was a kid, every year I was excited to get closer to the time when I'd be allowed to vote. I have voted in every primary, election, and special election since ( Read more... )

One thing that I hate about our country right now: people have been told that dissent is unpatriotic.

Dissent is the most patriotic thing you can do; this country was founded upon dissent. So I'm sick and tired of people saying that if you don't support the administration, you're unpatriotic. Go shove that down your own throats when they have a president they don't agree with.

Voting... that reminds me. my peers/classmates turned 17 just in time for the President election on 2004. the next day, they were all talking about their first experience in voting and I couldn't join.
I turned 17 a year later...

I'm so going to vote for next year's election!
