Ritsuka didn't want to wake up, even if the sun poking through the curtains told him he should. He was warm, comfortable, and safe. Safe? It was that thought that dragged him fully out of sleep and became immediately aware that he was neither in his own room nor in his own bed. Glancing to the left, he saw Soubi, still sleeping, and still wrapped around him, which explained all the things he felt as he woke.

Running his hand through his hair, he debated if it would be okay if he just went back to sleep. It was then that everything that happened the night before hit him. He and Soubi…they…together…in that very bed.

"Soubi," Ritsuka whispered, not wanting to wake him. He wasn't feeling regret, so much as fear. What would his mother do when she saw him? His father? When Soubi looked at him with such a needy expression, he could feel his heart break. Just when Ritsuka was about to move out of the bed, Soubi's grip tightened around him.

A small kiss to his neck made his body relax and he lay back down. Soubi turned Ritsuka over and their eyes met. "Ritsuka."

All the panic he felt evaporated at Soubi's smile. He couldn't recall the last time, if ever, he had seen Soubi look happy or at ease. This Soubi in front of him was happy.

"Morning, Soubi," Ritsuka said in an attempt to sound casual. The tremor in his voice probably gave him away, but this was Soubi he was talking to and he always knew what Ritsuka was feeling, somehow.

"Ritsuka," Soubi said again, and he placed a kiss on Ritsuka's forehead. "I love you, Ritsuka."

Swallowing around the lump in his throat, Ritsuka nodded. This time, he couldn't tell Soubi not to say it. This time, he kind of wanted to hear it. This time, he was going to try and say it back. "Soubi…do you want to make some memories today?"

"I think we made plenty last night." Ritsuka almost felt relieved to hear Soubi's bad jokes…almost.

"SOUBI, Ritsuka yelled, flustered, and distinctly felt the loss of his ears, which would have been pressed flatly against his head. "I mean the kind with pictures."

"Oh," Soubi said, thoughtfully, "I didn't think you'd want any, but I'll make you copies."

Ritsuka rolled over onto Soubi, straddling him, and pressed his hands against Soubi's shoulders. "What are you talking about?"

Looking up at him, Soubi grinned. "Those types of memories can have pictures, too."

Blushing, Ritsuka stared at Soubi with wide eyes. "When did you take pictures?"

Soubi reached to the side of the bed and grabbed his cellphone. Flipping it open, Soubi pressed a few buttons before handing it to Ritsuka. There was a picture of Ritsuka half on his belly, sleeping and earless, with the sheet only pulled over his behind. His back and legs were bare and the sheet served only to provide an outline of the curves underneath it. He looked up to see Soubi staring at him with a half-quirked smile and an expression of awed disbelief. Ritsuka could only squirm under the intensity of it, especially as the memories of last night were still fresh in his mind.

"Ritsuka," Soubi's voice came out as a half-moan, his arousal obvious. Ritsuka could feel the blush run across his cheeks, careen down his neck, and spread over his entire body.

"Was l-last night only supposed to h-happen once?" Ritsuka asked, focusing on the wrinkles in the sheets. Last night was because of so many things more important than want. Last night was bone-deep need and desperation. Last night was something that they both had to have and not just because of desire. Today, if there was a today, would be different. Today would happen because of want and desire and all those things that Ritsuka hardly understood more than fleetingly.

"It can happen whenever Ritsuka wants," Soubi answered, a look of faint hope on his face. "I'll always do whatever Ritsuka wants."

"But what about you?" Ritsuka asked. It couldn't work that way. Not for him. It had to be the both of them. "Soubi, what do you want?"

"I'll always want Ritsuka," Soubi replied, pushing a lock of Ritsuka's hair off of his face. "I'll always be Ritsuka's. "

Ritsuka didn't think he could ever get used to the way his belly squirmed when Soubi talked to him like that. But, this time, when Soubi said always, Ritsuka believed him.
