So, I'd written something in which I aged characters up to forty. It wasn't a huge aspect of the fic, but it was briefly mentioned.

A complete review was: wow.both of them are quite old.they're like 40 already.

Forty's only old if you're young and stupid. And unable to use capital letters.

When you're 19? 40 is so old it's practically dead. When you're 40+? It's just another stage of life. When you're 80? It's back in the good old days when you were young.

It's all about perspective, heh.

Well...it depends. When I was in my teens, all the hottest men were in their 40s (or more), so it was definitely NOT old. It was smart, sophisticated, worldly, experienced and way sexy.

Then again, I've basically always been an old woman.

I mentioned somebody was old, once. My sister, who was 19 or so at the time, said, "What? Like 23?" *facepalm*

That said, I just turned 25 and I'm feeling a bit old. Well, not as a general rule, but I'm on a set timeline for how long I can have children and being 25 and considering this as the end of your fertility cycle makes you feel a bit old. But as a general rule I don't think forty's that old.

LMAO! I would imagine the person reading it was under the age of twenty! I don't think forty is old. In fact, my idea of old is changing every year as my parents age, as i don't think THEY are old, so "old" has to be older than them :-D
