The cafe is a sea of glittering candles, with the Christmas tree scraping the ceiling and covered in hundreds of fairy lights and a rainbow of tinsel. Drake is always enthusiastic, if not entirely stylish

Josh wanders past the place then doubles back. Perhaps memories can be found here. He enters and looks around. For what, even he's not sure.

"Oh, I see. Lost in romance? In deep philosophy?"

Caitlin sips at her wine, studying him as if for a role. He seemed preoccupied, not entirely at ease - but then it was a room full of strangers.

He sighed and looked elsewhere from Caitlin. There was something strange in his gut, and it wasn't his mince pie.

"Oh? Amnesia, is it? That's terribly tragic."

Caitlin followed his gaze and realised he was finding the evening difficult. Classic avoidance behaviour, straight out of a Christie play, though she didn't believe him guilty.
