[It's a surprisingly melancholic look on his face when he can be seen, pacing on what seems to be a rooftop somewhere.

He finally sits beside the SFC with a sigh, shaking his head.]

Looks like the theory wasn't entirely right. He's still gone.

[A pause, and he notices the red light. With an annoyed look, he reaches over, and--

[... no, she doesn't really know what he's talking about. But she can tell that it's probably something pretty important. Give her some time to research and figure it out. ... but while she does that-]

Penny for your thoughts?

I wonder whose fault it is that I feel the need to repeat myself to you multiple times.

[Spoilers: It's because he's stubborn. :| DON'T ARGUE.]

Yours, probably. I can't control how you feel.

I don't know, there needs to be a cause to come up with this result, right?

In the end, what you feel or allow yourself to feel is entirely up to you.

You think so? I wonder about that. Not everyone's quite so in control.

That's just what I think. You're welcome to disagree.

[Goodness knows it hadn't been up to him to feel melancholic about Eyes' death, but--]

[She laughs a little.]

...In a manner of speaking.

[He doesn't like being down like this. He needs something else to focus on.]

[.... awwww, Matthew. Her heart goes out to him! ... except she's not sure what to do in this situation.]

Then you should find something else to focus on. Time goes on, and we don't have a second to waste in trying to find an escape, right?

[For all the moments that she can be pretty insightful, she.... honestly has no advice for missing someone. It's not really something she knows much about.]

I would, but unfortunately, the Church seems to still be closed off, keen as I am to try again.

I'm sure some sort of opportunity will come, but until then, it looks like I'll just have to wait.

[He itches to have some sort of purpose. It would certainly help.]

A thief with no goal- so sad!

But... you know. I'd offer to help if it didn't give the wrong impression. Soooo~

[Except if you were to, y'know, steal something right in front of her, she'd have no choice but to pursue. Been a while since they did that.]

[Heh.]

You could make a decent thief if you put your mind to it, you know.

[He might have to try that. So bored.]

Your idea of a compliment is horrifying. I like to think our occupations should remain on opposite sides of the spectrum.
