14th Combo - [Dream]

The dream starts off simply enough, with the figure of a glowering forevveraglub standing with arms crossed. The scenery around him is indistinct, perhaps a field or a forest. rainbowpalette, a girl, is standing in front of him. Neither one looks happy, but the girl is particularly upset. Eridan snaps something at Kanaya, who looks like she's almost in tears

[Greetings! Have Eridan's face on your screen Lloyd, how his eyes are half lidded in annoyance, eye brows lowered, near furrowing, lips pursed as if trying to hold back some great verbal ass kicking or something. His fins curled with agitation. He looks about ready to skin someone alive. Probably Lloyd.]

[It takes him a second, just sitting there, staring. Despite the hate and anger exuding from his form, he's keeping calm for the most part. But he looks like a volcano ready to erupt at the smallest spark.]

[Slowly he opens his mouth, closes it, thinks, opens it again--lip drawing back against his sharp teeth in a rage filled snarl.]

So.

You hawe a thing for Kan, do ya?

[There is nothing but venom in his words, venom and a slight protective, possessiveness that really gets drowned out by the ill intent that floods the sounds. He is not happy Lloyd. Not. One. Bit.]

[Ugh, dammit, what a thing to wake up to. As far as Lloyd's concerned, that had been a nice dream. Would have been better without Eridan at all, but can't always have everything. Dream Eridan had at least been better than reality.

Lloyd rolls over in his bed and picks his Dreamberry up, rubbing his eyes and giving the troll a sleep-blurred glare.]

She's my friend. What do you care?

She's my moirail. A course I care. Especially if bad company has their greedy little wision receptors on her.

[He's basically growling this at you Lloyd.]

[If Eridan thinks growling at Lloyd is going to intimidate him, he doesn't know Lloyd at all. Lloyd just responds with a flat glare back.]

You think I'm bad company? I'm not the one who wants to kill her!

[since he knows both of them, this is Ace laughing.

[Lloyd's still trying to rub all the sleep from his eyes, but he still manages a confused blink at Ace.]

Huh?

Haha, sorry, sorry. Your dream-it was just highly entertaining.

[Lloyd... isn't sure if he should be pleased or take offense. He eyes Ace uncertainly for a moment.]

What was so funny about it?

Really? [A little more awake now.] I thought it was just kind of, you know, a dream. Yeah, some of it's real, but you think all of it is?

Eridan is always getting rejected. It is incredibly pathetic!

Maybe he wouldn't get rejected if he was nicer to his friends. Is he like that with everyone?

That's... sweet, Lloyd?

[Kanaya just saw his dream. Kanaya. There's a hint of red creeping up his cheeks now, and words, what are words? Because he has no idea what to say.]

Um... uh, thanks? [He rubs the back of his neck. Come on, Lloyd, this isn't a big deal. People see dreams all the time. Still blushing a little, he gives Kanaya a sheepish grin.] It was just a dream. I'd definitely protect you if someone tried to hurt you, though, so I guess that part was real. You're my friend!

[Oh my goodness, flustered. Especially over that end part. What had that been all about? And why is the only person she can talk to about this Lloyd's mortal enemy?]

T-thank you, I really appreciate that...

[Now what?]

["Now what" indeed. There is an incredibly awkward moment where Lloyd tries to figure out what to say next. He's not sure what the dream means. He's never had dreams like this that ended... like that. He's not used to this at all and he doesn't know what to do if it means what he thinks it might mean and...

This is so confusing.

I like her. There. That feeling is simple enough. Simple enough that it eases the awkwardness just a little bit. He can deal with that much and figure the rest out as he goes.]

So, um, I'm feeling better now. Did you still want to go on that walk?

[She can't help but snicker.]

That's quite a dream, Lloyd.

[This is Lloyd. This is Lloyd turning a nice shade of red. Having one of his friends see a dream of his like that...]

Where did all of that come from, though? I mean, I know it was all a dream but...

[She snickers just a little.]

[Lloyd rubs the back of his neck, heat still creeping up.] Well, um, Kanaya's one of my friends, and she's friends with Eridan, but he's a really big jerk. He's not very nice to her. He's even said he's going to kill her in the future, that it's inevitable. [Despite his embarrassment, there's still a touch of anger when he brings that up.] That's why I got in a fight with him before. I said I'd protect her even if he wouldn't, so I guess that explains the rest.

[The rest expect the part where Kanaya had her arms around his neck, but he's stubbornly not going to bring that up.]
