Let's talk about murder

So I was going to post a general update post, but after going through and commenting and responding I am too lazy to. But if anyone is watching Riverdale, please share your murderer theories with me!

My current theory is Hiram Lodge setting something in motion, or Cheryl's dad.

I think it was Cheryl Blossom, though I suspect we are supposed to think it was her mother and/or father. I think she was so jealous of Polly and Jason that she killed him rather than let him run away with Polly. The little I've seen of the twins' relationship leads me to believe she was heavily dependent on him and was probably feeling very abandoned.

I think it would be a cheat to have it be Hiram Lodge because he has no physical presence on the show. It needs to be someone we are getting to know, not someone who comes in last minute as the villain. I would consider that very sloppy writing and CW shows don't tend to be sloppy.

I don't think it would be any of the mains. I wouldn't put it past Mrs. Cooper, but I think that would be far to obvious and easy an answer. I don't trust the mayor, but I don't see how she could be connected to the murder at this point.

I can definitely see it being Cheryl! And, she's the only teen that would plausibly have access to a walk-in freezer, though she would have had to kept everyone at the home from finding the body. The only thing holding me back is out-of-universe-- the actress pretty great on the show and if they make her the murderer they wouldn't be able to have her in the same capacity of season 2. Honestly, the only reason I suspect her dad at this point is that her mom is so over the top and he mostly skulked in the shadows.

I was thinking less Hiram Lodge pulled the trigger and more that it's somehow tied up with the Snakes and the drug dealing and the shady business deals and somehow Jason got caught up in that. But all my theories are grasping at straws, I don't feel strongly in any direction at this point! Hopefully this week will shed some light on the gang thing?
