DOESN'T THE GOVERNMENT HAVE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO THAN POLICE MY UTERUS?

Yes they do. But the fundamentalists don't.

Glad to see you post, btw. I was about to send you another PM asking where the hell you were. ;)

Obviously what the fundamentalists want is for all women to become lesbians.
Which I guess is an admirable goal, but this is a pretty stupid way to go about it.

(I was actually in Boston for work all last week, hence the disappearance! Also, I want a Ginger icon but none seem to exist!)

Apparently I am less than a person because I'm a woman and have ovaries. /sarcasm

Really, this pisses me off and I need to repost this to my journal during lunch, but this is such hypocritical political bullshit. If this passes, I suggest forming an underground railroad for women to escape this state. I just can't imagine....

Oh, wait, sadly I can. That's the problem.

How can you not be completely thrilled with your role in life as incubator? I mean, what else could you possibly want?

What kills me is 1. The absolute ridiculousness of declaring a few cells a person with all these inalienable rights when we keep trying to take rights AWAY from women, immigrants, queers, etc, and when we slaughter and eat much larger animals, and

2. If protecting innocent babies was really the point, you think these groups would use their budgets to fund things like, gee, providing adequate sex ed and free birth control to reduce unwanted pregnancies, or providing low cost daycare and social services to parents and pregnant women. :P

Of course I want to be a human incubator against my will! I mean, Amy Pond did it brilliantly and I want to grow up to be just like her! /sarcasm

I love how your reply touched on only half of what's wrong with our society and women's rights today. At this stage the fetus doesn't even have a heartbeat, or a full-developed brain, or even legs so how someone could call a cluster of cells that has the potential to become a human being a definable person is beyond me. Might as well ask my kidney how its day is going and if its felt violated by all of the medications I take on a daily basis. *eyeroll*

And, as for your second point, don't you know that sex ed is all abotu abstinence these days, condoms/birth control are the creation of the devil, but ED medications are FIIIIINE.

No one cares about minorities, immigrants, women, queers, or the things that happen to them. Turn a blind eye and it'll disappear...at least for the white, upper-class men who make these laws. *is now angry* Fuck.
