Miami Airport

Back from a rockin' vacation (quite literally, on several levels). More on that anon, perhaps, but at the moment I am most moved on the subject of the Miami airport, and Miami in general ( Read more... )

It wasn't quite that bad when I was an undergrad and flew there frequently. But the Ft Lauderdale airport is so much better that I stopped using MIA around 2002. It took less time to fly into Ft Lauderdale even with the extra hour of driving ( ... )

I'm fairly sure there are some cocaine-related purposes as well, unless TV and movies have lied to me.

Sadly, you don't always have a choice about whether or not you fly through MIA. Although I must say, I don't think I've *ever* gone from the airport to the beach... and I've been in MIA a million times. They have decided it would be fun to keep my luggage a few times. And they've found a perverse pleasure in putting my gate on the other side of the world. DFW is similar in that respect (by curving the terminal, from one end to the other is just that much longer...)

Moral of the story: booooo airports.
