Nice. I like Bill's practical mindset of liking people who don't blow things up and just taking craters in level 28 in stride. Plus, bonus points for referencing not only Foothold, but Matter of Time and Crystal Scull.
One of the things I love about fic is the chance to stitch together all the disparate bits- the eps don't exist in isolation for the people who live through them, after all. Fun!
Books, papers, the odd coffee cup or abandoned sandwich...really low key stuff, compared to the time Bill walked into Sam's lab when she was experimenting with a power source from a Jaffa staff weapon. (Let's just say that ever since then, Bill has kept a change of underwear in his locker.)
*is ded* Poor, poor Bill. No wonder the Janitor's Union said they wouldn't represent anyone working for the SGC - there are some risks a humble janitor should never have to deal with!
It makes me think of your "Arthur's Mantle" fic and wonder what Bill would have said if he'd had to clean up invisible stuff that he couldn't actually touch.
And you have Rothman. That's awesome, too, just 'cause.
Thank you! I think Bill would have pushed the broom around, and left muttering something about how women can see dirt where no one else can - but safely *out* of Janet's hearing!
And I've always had a soft spot for Rothman. I've got backstory for him that will pop out in a fic one of these days.
Yeah, he's a decent guy. The kind who snowblows the driveway for the older lady across the street, because her kids won't come out on a weekday. Not a great thinker and isn't troubled by it. Somebody's got to keep things cleaned up, after all.
