Hello flist! Visiting poepi in Charlotte was great fun and now I am back home and my car is unpacked and I am never getting in it again. My suitcases are *not* unpacked and I somehow have more than I left with and I left with a guitar that I did not come back with, so how that happened I do not know ( Read more... )

Time is disappearing? What the hell does that even mean? This is why I think all theorectical physicists are crazy.

Apparently that it might be slowing down and eventually will stop completely? I don't know; I don't understand physics. But space is crazy!

it could be sort of nice, though! all time will disappear and we'll live in nevereding groundhog day and there would be no hurry ever. or something like this :D

No hurry ever sounds nice, but I think it means that someday everything will just freeze as time ceases to exist. D: Of course it also says Earth will probably be gone by then...

I find this reassuring because I always thought the idea of the never being constantly expanding terrifying. Everything is getting farther apart! Getting to other places will be increasingly more difficult! Resources and even possibly other life forms slipping away! And then there won't be enough density of matter to sustain the Universe! END OF TIMES!!!! ... Many billions of years from now. IDK, I always found it terrifying nonetheless, the idea of everything ending in emptiness.

But no, wait! After all the rate of expansion isn't increasing!!! Maybe. So it's sort of good news, on the one hand? It's still expanding, but not faster than it was.

I'm totally not being helpful, am I?

Yeah...now that you mention it that has always kind of freaked me out too. The universe is expanding! INTO WHAT? D:

Both options freak me out. Because space is creepy.

The "into what?" has always been the flipside of the brain-breaking coin here, srsly. I'm sure physicists have an explanation, but, if we think about it logically, if the Universe are all the things then these things are expanding in the nothing? It all sounds more metaphysics than physics. Or the plot for the Neverending Story.

Which is why it's creepy.

that space things is mega creepy but it's okay cos the doctor and captain jack are gonna save us each and everytime the space/time continuum gets out of hand. right? RIGHT??? *trembles*

where are you thinking of going dancing?

RIGHT. Of course, that should have occurred to me. :)

I was going to go to Kicks and Black Cat, but now none of my friends are going anymore so I'm probably not going after all.

I actually just agreed to get dinner with another school friend, but raincheck? Black Cat is always good or we could go to iota or something closer like you suggested before. I still have about a week before school starts and you and I live so close together. Just let me know what nights would be convenient for you.
