Also, while I get that Midtown was a different band than CS, and therefore people followed Gabe just because of Midtown, um...Midtown was a different band than Cobra Starship. I mean, you are not required in any way, shape or form to like everything someone does. If you don't like CS, then just go off and do something else. Also, I love the entitlement (good to know it's music elitists as well as fangirls) that Gabe owes them something.
You know Gabe sits at home at night and goes "Am I selling out with this? I just can't quite *tell*." Heee.

The fannish entitlement is rampant and ridiculous, agreed. I'm just saying that I see how there's a disconnect between what Gabe is doing and how some of them are reading it. I think he has a *lot* of cognitive dissonance on the sell out accusations (among other things) because on the one hand yes but on the other hand he's making a point with it. Everything he's done has been very intentional.
