*sigh* I'm still mourning our OTP, for sure.

Also! I have never worn contacts for exactly the reason that I think I, too, would be terribly inept. Also, I'm lazy. And I had NO idea you could pinch a cornea. *cringes*

I am still *clinging* to the OTP. They are narratively interesting right now! *tinhats*

Pinching my cornea didn't even hurt that much! It was just sort of mildly uncomfortable, which was why I was confused about whether it was my contact or my eye - which sounds STUPID, but I really would have expected pinching my cornea to hurt a lot. I'm also lazy, so I would never wear contacts all the time, I just wanted them as an option when I'm going out or something. Hopefully eventually I will be able to manage it without almost poking my eye out. /o\

*g* Jumping in to say: I am DYING for well-written current setting Panic fic. Ryan/Brendon, Spencer+Ryan, whatever/whatever, I just really really would love it.

... But I have this reaction to everything scandalous/shocking/sad/unexpected happens in any of my RPS fandoms.

stepps has a list of divorce fic over on her journal. I haven't read all of it (because I'm not *quite* there yet, but I'm getting there) and I haven't checked in a couple of days, but some of it's good - or at least by writers I trust.

If I wrote one it would be Ryan/Brendon with a FUCKTON of Spencer+Ryan bffness and would be so amazingly self-indulgent. I don't know. Maybe I have it in me. Mostly I just want future!fic - set a couple of years in the future - that FIXES IT.

Aaah contact! It was absolutely frustrating to put them in at first (20-30 minutes was totally normal the first ten days or so)! Now I'm done in 30 seconds. But I didn't know the cornea thing. :|

I feel like I'm - maybe - getting the hang of it.

I did not know about the cornea thing either until I actually did it. I imagine that most people never find themselves in a situation where they discover that. /o\

Goodgood! After a while it just becomes a reflex (and this is speaking as someone who actually cried in frustration a few times when they just wouldn't get in.-

But you're special. <3

I got to spend last week being both totally fangirl and doing something for my professional career (and it was all tax deductible). I went to Romance Writers of America's Annual Conference in Washington, DC. I got to meet Kelley Armstrong, Rachel Vincent, Gena Showalter, Jeaniene Frost, Melissa Marr and so many others. I also got tons of FREE books (51 to be exact).

Only problem was Saturday morning, as I was racing to shut off the alarm clock before it woke up the entire house, I fell and seriously bruised my ribs. They still hurt like hell. I went to the doctor yesterday and they aren't cracked, but he did give me Percocet. I feel much better now.

When my mom was first getting contacts as a teenager, it took her so long to get them in at that first appointment at the eye doc that her mother, my grandmother, just up and left her there. It didn't take me quite that long, but it was definitely harder at first than it is now (some twelve years later!). It probably takes me 4-5 seconds now. What kind do you have?

I'm using the Focus Dailies because I definitely don't wear them every day so using the daily ones just seemed like less of a hassle. I am getting the hang of it! It's just slower going than I thought it would be.
