This evening I discovered that I have somehow lost my copies of Tipping the Velvet and House of Leaves. I am also STILL missing the fifth disc of the second season of Buffy. My OCD is going to drive me to distraction until I either find or replace these things. Did you know that you really can't buy discs of Buffy individually? Do you know how ( Read more... )

I use this icon b/c it is in fact called "tipping the velvet". For obvious reasons.

I am so ridiculous. Me misplacing anything is always like an epic disaster.

Guh, yes. I can see the reason for that.

WELL IT CERTAINLY CAN'T HURT.

I've been distracting myself by playing with my journal layout since I haven't changed it in over a year. Remember when I told you that Gabe hugged me and you asked me to explain the relevance of Gabe Saporta on a scale you would understand? "Please explain the relevance of Gabe Saporta on a scale I might understand" is now my journal title. Mostly because I spend entirely too much time obsessed with the relevance of Gabe Saporta.

Do you or anyone you know have Netflix? Because a friend lost one of the discs to one of my Buffy sets once upon a time and this is what I did: ordered that disc on Netflix and then marked it "lost in the mail."

Perhaps you think this is unethical and I am a bad person but I couldn't find it anywhere either! And Netflix has it built in that you can "lose" a few discs without endangering your membership or being charged. And that's the only disc I've ever intentionally "lost." So. It's an option.

I don't have Netlix, though I was thinking about getting it once I get to DC. Hmmm. I don't think you're a bad person. *g* Desperate times . . .

Your OCD is pretty hilarious to me, if not necessarily to you.

I keep looking at my bookshelves and thinking "I'm going to get rid of some of my books." Then I actually look at the books and go "OMG I LOVE YOU NEVER LEAVE ME!" And then I read more books and I want them. It's a problem.

It's pretty hilarious to me as well. Most of the time.

I did end up getting rid of a couple of books - mostly silly things that I knew I'd never read again. Still, it was painful. And I didn't get rid of very many.

I have a second copy of the first half of the fifth season at my parents' house (accidentally bought doubles). I won't be home for a few months but I can definitely get it when I go back and post it to you? :)

Thanks for the offer! It's actually part of the second season that I'm missing, but I appreciate it!

Oh - sorry! I have doubles of the second season, two - is it disc five you need, then? (Sorry, am at work, can't read your post again like a normal person!) If it's anything but disc four, you're in luck - I'm in the middle of a rewatch at the moment (HOW DID I FORGET HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS SHOW?) and that disc doesn't work for me so I'll need it - I can send that on to you.
