Yesterday we had a massive freak thunderstorm which knocked the power out in places all over the city. There were tree limbs down on cars; there was a whole fucking tree down on a house down the street. I don't really deal well with extreme rain, so once our power went out I pretty much huddled on the couch with the soaking wet and terrified ( Read more... )

Would Jon/Spencer also work for the insane idea?

I don't see why not. You could probably make them work in any combination for that idea.

Can I ask why not Ryan?

Cause two people said to me "OMG WHY NOT SPENCER"- is J/S the OTP or something? In any case, I do not know because they are all interchangeable to me still.

Early on the default pairings tended to be Brendon/Ryan and Jon/Spencer, but that's hardly the case anymore. Everybody is written with everybody and frequently it ends in GSF. Sometimes it feels like Panic shipping is kind of an extreme sport.

Jon/Ryan seemed logical when you said it given the recent fascination/hero worship thing Ryan had going on re: Jon. But I can't think of a reason why not Spencer. That works too. You really could write that fic using any combination of them.

I think I am also skipping the panic fall tour. it is likely to be pricey, and i don't have any desire to do an arena show. i am however possibly flying to CA for the cab fall tour. i have a trip i have to take by a certain date b/c i had to cash in a ticket when i got sick last presidents day.

interesting thing: i am watching the secret life of an american teenager and it is appalling. it is making my soul hurt a little but i can't look away.

also interesting: william beckett is writing badfic in his blog.

Yeah, The Cab isn't coming anywhere near me, so that's definitely a no go. I'm not 100% sure about Panic yet, but I'm definitely leaning toward no. And I'm okay with both of those things, actually. I'd like to see them obviously, but . . . concerts really stress me out too. The one that HURTS me is Cobra. GAAAAABE. Why not DC?

I kept seeing previews for that show when I was watching appalling Lifetime movies and when my mom was watching Army Wives. So it's as bad as it looks?

I was going to get off the computer so that I could go clean! I'm making SUCH PROGRESS. (The goal is to not be an absolute disaster when you get here. IT IS A GOOD GOAL). But now clearly I have to go read William Beckett's blog.

i am totally not online right now. i am definitely sleeping like a responsible person elucidate_this July 31 2008, 04:33:24 UTC
the cobras are def. adding more dates. like, the seattle one is posted for the club they are playing at but not on their myspace. so maybe they are coming closer to you.

i am like 90% sure that panic is a no-go. it's just not worth it i think.

that show is like ten times worse than it looks in the commercials.

it's okay if your room is a disaster. when i'm seattle i live in a pit of despair.

I hope so. I'm keeping my eye on their tour dates. C

It's not just my room; it's the entire basement (which consists of the downstairs bedroom and bathroom, the downstairs living room and the whole storage space) I threw shit all over it while trying to organize and now it looks like it exploded (though it's getting better). But mostly I just don't want to have a whole lot of stuff to worry about while you're here. My stressing would cut into fangirling time *g*

Thank you! It's probably not too far from finished, but the beta process is probably going to be a bit painful. It's Brendon/Ryan/Keltie and VERY self-indulgent, so I hope it lives up to expectations.

In my weekly email from the 9:30 Club, they had dates for Sonar in Baltimore (just a few blocks north of the Inner Harbor). Cobra Starship is playing Sonar on Wednesday, November 19. I usually don't think of Baltimore as "travel", because you can get there in under an hour and come home after the show. I'm hoping Cobra comes to DC, though, I admit.

Oh, thanks for that. I'm not familiar with the area and distances on the east coast still seem weird to me; things feel like they should be farther apart than they are. If the travel time is under an hour, that should be fine, though, yeah. Them coming to DC would be ideal.
