So Dark Knight was beyond awesome and hit so many of my narrative buttons that I actually lost track. And I saw Mamma Mia last night with southernbangel and loved it completely because ANY movie/plot is improved approximately 200% by characters bursting into song. Also, Amanda Seyfried, be my girlfriend ( Read more... )

I have yet to see Mamma Mia, but Amanda Seyfried looks SO gorgeous and awesome in the trailers. I fucking love her.

She is gorgeous and awesome in the movie as well. She's fucking radiant. I've always liked her, though mostly I knew her as Lily Kane which is obviously a completely different role. I didn't *love* her until this movie.

HI KITA HI.

Batman was awesome. So many narrative kinks. ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

I'm sorry. You're still mostly reading AUs, right? I don't think I've read anything recently that fits into the criteria you have, but I will look. There is lots of good fic in this fandom. Have you read The Mirror Stage? I haven't yet. But wearemany is always good. She wrote "Give Me More," which was the great Brendon Mormon crisis fic that everybody loves.

Awesomesauce! I shall give it a try.

Yes, I do not think Batman missed ONE of my kinks. Except possibly tentacle porn, but I forebear.

It missed a few of mine, but the ones it hit, it hit RIGHT ON. Especially the ending: the narrative that the people have to believe is more important than the literal truth, construction of meaning thing. UGH. I am so on board with that.

I read a third of the first Twilight book, and then I stopped. I don't understand why my loved ones are having trouble with this concept. If it's bad, you stop reading it. That's how books work. I have yelled at too many of my friends over Twilight in the past two weeks.

That said, the article nearly made me fall out of my chair. Oh, middle America. You just don't get it.

Also:
- did I mention OH GOD YES to your literal-truth-sacrificed-for-social-narrative kink being hit in Batman? Because, if not, OH GOD YES.
- good luck with the apartment! *crosses fingers*
- write your frikkin threesome story already!

You did! But it bears repeating. Because hello, BIGGEST NARRATIVE KINK I HAVE. That was AMAZING.

Thank you! You should come visit me and see it.

I am! I am! Just . . . slowly.

I love that trope; love it. I think it says a lot about how I feel about the movie that I barely touch on that when I talk about it with people. I'm too busy flailing over the Joker as a truly chaotic character, and (even more) over Harvey Dent giving his life to a broken system ONLY TO HAVE THE SYSTEM TAKE IT OH GOD HARVEY DENT I *FLAIL.* If that movie had robots, I might not have made it out alive.

Duh.

Slowly is boring!

This one isn't Xfiles /o\" I did get to see it on the big screen before Hulk though, and HOMG. I AM SO UNIRONICALLY EXCITED!!!! Mulder and Scully!!!!!!!! Eeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

I wish you were here so you could go with me! I think I'm going to go on Friday by myself, haha. CAN'T WAIT!

I am totally unironically excited. There is no irony in my love for X-Files. At all. There never was.

I wish I was there so I could go with you too! I think I have people who will go with me, and that will be fun, but it would be awesome to go with another old school X-Files fan.

I laughed at that article myself. I think where they're coming from is that the books say it's okay to postpone sex until marriage. Of course, they also say it's okay to date a super-creepy, controlling jerk who's way older than you. I guess that message is just peachy? :)

I know I'm not going to get the X-Files movie of my dreams (Mulder/Krycek ftw), so I'm just going to enjoy the ride.

That's my point. I get what they're saying, but he's a in the context of this particular relationship, it wouldn't seem to me like sex is the thing to be most concerned about. They should be talking to their daughters about the creepiness and quasi-stalking, you know?

I was ever a Mulder/Krycek shipper, but I was a Krycek fan to the CORE OF MY BEING and I'm still not over his death. I might get MSR, which would make me happy, but no Krycek means it can never be completely satisfying.
