HAPPY MARDI GRAS!! Hello darlings. My feet hurt, my head hurts, my throat hurts and I'm about ready to drop where I stand, but that's more or less the sign of a successful Mardi Gras. We're in the homestretch; if I can make it down to the Quarter for a couple more hours before midnight tonight, I will feel that I have fulfilled all righteousness

That is the second reference I have seen to pancakes and Mardi Gras in the last two days. I know nothing about pancakes being related to Mardi Gras! I have to look that up.

It's my favorite time of year - though right now I'm almost glad it's over. It's fun, but it's tiring. My stamina is gone.
