And that's difficult to say in a way that makes sense to people who aren't here, so yeah. Balance. Hard.

I don't know about others but you're making sense to me. I don't think I can say anything else that wouldn't sound like a platitude, but yeah - you're making sense.

(Eleven days of parades and rum? Yeah, I'd stay too.) ;)

I don't know that I can ever again live somewhere that doesn't do Mardi Gras, though I suppose eventually I'll have to try.

Or you can always stick to other Carnival loving places. I hear they party pretty hard down in Bahia. *G*

Eleven days of parades and rum, Sofia. That's worth a lot.

Or you can always stick to other Carnival loving places. I hear they party pretty hard down in Bahia. *G*

Also an option. I think I have to move north for grad school, though, because all of the schools I'm looking at are . . . not here. That's what's upsetting. It's cold there! Boo.

The idea of moving anywhere cold is... too dreadful to contemplate. I'm the kind that complains when the temperature drops below 18ºC - quick, a conversion table!... about 65ºF. (Last year we had a string of tropical nights, 70ºF minimum, oh man, it was sweet.) And ideally temperatures should never drop bellow eighties. I like not having to wear multiple layers of clothing, yes, thank you.

Exactly. 70 degrees minimum for an extended period of time sounds awesome. It's usually fairly warm here, though the winters can get a bit unpleasant. I like wearing one layer of clothing - and never, ever, ever having to scrape the windows of my car when they ICE OVER. *shudders*
