I was having a pretty crazy time of it here, I have to say. After doing NOTHING (and I do mean nothing. Not. A. Thing.) for four months, NOLA was a bit of a shock to the system - but definitely in a good way. Now, of course, I will be eaten by school work and thesis work and probably spend all of my time on lj procrastinating. How are things with you?
I haven't read any because I don't watch Supernatural faithfully, but deannaz has been writing and posting slash (although I think it's the brothers she's slashing) fic. Although I haven't read this stuff- her AtS/BtVS fic is excellent...
I'm sure she is slashing the brothers. Everyone does. They're hot, they flirt all the time and there aren't any other characters. I have to say I feel a little dirty about it, hence the leaverecshereandasknoquestions approach, but after some of the things I read during my temporary foray into HP fandom, you know it really doesn't seem that bad. ;)
Thanks for the rec; I'll definitely check her stuff out.
Nice to know I have a link to "what is happening in New Orleans" as the city recovers. My first college boyfriend lives there, but he writes rarely, so you are my source. Thank you. Classes sound fascinating.
The classes should go pretty well. Hopefully I'll graduate at the end of the semester, if they ever get around to letting me know what's going on. NOLA is an interesting and slightly scary place to be right now, but it's good to be back.
Yeah, 6:30 in the morning is going to be very, very bad, especially considering that I only worked night shift before. I keep telling myself that I'll get used to it, but I'm not at all sure that I will.
Whatever the art book cost, it was worth. The class is shaping up to be amazing. I'm such a theory geek, and this is all the theory stuff, but from a visual arts rather than a literature perspective. I LOVE it. And everyone around me think I'm insane . . .
Let me know when you get back! We should totally hang out.
Somewhere I have a copy of Death in Venice, but I'm not sure which edition it is. I'll dig it out from whatever pile of crap it is under and let you know.

The art history text is expensive because collor plate reproduction of art works is expensive. The better the quality, the more expensive the book.
Your class sound fascinating, but 6:30 in the morning does not. Serious bluch.
