Poor Jack! No wonder he drinks so much rum.

"She cannot see the stars, but she knows the hour." Love this line becos to me it speaks that she has turned pirate already--she has allowed herself to become acclimated to the rythms of the oceans, nature life.

"He has more ghosts..." She got one full to the brim, stories upon stories upon....and sometimes you love them becos of this, sometimes you love them despite...

Beautiful what you've writ, sweet and vivid, can feel the weight of the air and darkness. Not scary, just an additional "chore" to be attended.

Your comment made me all warm and fuzzy inside - such kind words, as always. You always pick up on what I'm trying to convey, and make me feel like a competent writer :)

Thank you so much Pearl!

Poor Jack! And poor Elizabeth, too. Fate dealt them each a strange and terrible hand.

A haunting drabble, just right for October. Well done!.

Indeed it has. They both have to live with so much - I can't see either of them being unaffected.

I'm glad you liked it :)
