Late comment is always better than no comment!

Eeeeek I am so glad you like it! Even if you had ruin my attempt at a surprise :P

Vienna Teng is on there just for you, and the wings are what had me freaking out when we were Skyping.

But yes. Asriel and Marisa are so complex and their relationship/backstory is ~mysterious. But this mix is kind of my headcanon for it. They meet at some ridiculous society function and they fall in lust and they have sex in wildly inappropriate places and they are sort of enemies but they have all the feelings and it ruins everything and they both run away because they have ~issues. But whoops, here comes Lyra and that is like the death knell of their relationship. Because they cannot subject a kid to the kind of fucked-up lives they live. But Marisa wants to keep Lyra, and Asriel knows this is an inherently bad idea so he steals her in the middle of the night and gives her to the college. And Marisa hates him for it and he kind of hates that Marisa hates him but he doesn't regret what he did and they ( ... )

Beautiful music choices and such elegant minimalist art! Back when I first read the books as an 11 year old, Mrs Coulter was ALWAYS my favourite character. I cried for a week when she died in the end. And I was pretty sure even back then that that's probably not a good thing.

I think even though she was evil, she had her reasons and she'd fought tooth and claw to get where she was. All of which I always found more admirable than being the chosen hero like Lyra.

Thank you! I'm so glad you like the covers and the songs - I really wanted to do Asriel and Marisa justice, but they are such hard characters to pin down that it's definitely a "hope for the best" scenario.

Augh, Mrs. Coulter. I love that woman. She is powerful and complex and all kinds of messed up, and I want to know ALL THE THINGS about her. As you said, she had her reasons and she fought like hell to get what she wanted. Her path was very different from Lyra's, intriguing and mysterious in a way that Lyra's just couldn't be because you knew Lyra. Mrs. Coulter on the other hand....

Enjoy the mix :D
