It's hard when "management" doesn't always acknowledge, but you *are* a valuable member of the team. Let yourself feel good that you can help train new people, that you are the go-to guy and point person for certain things.
That kind of institutional knowledge is really valuable, and don't you let your supervisors forget it when you come up for review!

Thank you. Sometimes I forget that yes, I do a damn decent job most days & if I do make a mistake, it's a mistake & not because I'm bad at my job. We don't get much/really any management recognition, especially at an individual level. We might get the occasional morning tea if we've done something pretty well as a team, get a little thank you (ie--a $2 toy or something) if we've been nominated by a peer for something, but that's about it. It's frustrating sometimes but at the end of the day I'm not doing it for management.

I'll have to remember to bring it up at my reviews. I've got a monthly meeting with my team leader next week, one of the regular check-ins. At least I can keep it in her mind so that in about 3 months when it comes time for our bonus reviews & hand-outs maybe I'll get something. Thank you for reminding me.
