A few shots from Joust

Feb 04, 2009 21:46

Here you go, a few photos from Taupo Joust. I don't know how far I am through them but guess only about 1/4, maybe 1/3 so there will be more. I wanted to at least get these ones up for you to enjoy.

And here's the other photo of me. This was taken by a couple from work I ran into at the Faire. It's before I really started burning.

Those are really good, I love this armour one. That dome tent dohickey is very cool. =)

Thank you :D I take that as a high compliment, I've seen your work!

The dome one is a Yurt. At least, it looked like a yurt to me so that's what I called it!

I love love love the b&w shots of the armor - damn you know how to deal with light in monochrome. =)

Thank you :D

LOL, well, does it count if I cheated on the b&w?? I shoot all in colour (digital) and then play in Photoshop. If something doesn't seem suited to monocrome I don't bother saving it. But it's not just about removing the colour for me, I try to tweak the hues (usually end up decreasing the blue hues) & then go back and play with contrast, brightness & lights & shadows.

Thank you. Yep, the belly dancers were brave. I was really glad they went through with it & it looked like they had fun (there were 3 dancers but I only got the 1 shot of them).

The pics are really nice. I love playing with changing pics to black and white. I just mess around on my computer nothing serious.

Nothing serious is how you get started. I haven't had any photo classes at all, have always just played around and shot things as I liked them. Since I shoot digital now it's easier to play with photos, change them to b&w (or other colours) or for some of my 'old' looking shots to add film grain or other effects to make them look ancient.

Do you have any online you want to share?

Thank ya! Did you see the earlier post? I had bought a souveneir photo & posted it: http://red-trillium.livejournal.com/156042.html

There's also a couple shots of Taupo Joust there but I've uploaded them to the Webshots album so if you've looked at that you'll have seen them.
