I'm not a fan of blue cheese either, but I like goat cheese. I don't know about smoked cheese, according to my google, gouda is smoked cheese?!? Do you like soft cheeses?

My picks would be:
- Oka (or the French equivalent Saint-Paulin, but Oka is better. Smelly, but good)
- Havarti (semi-soft) flavoured with herbs
- Brie (baked or not baked, or both) (soft)
- Camembert (soft)
- An old cheddar (I'll usually buy St-Albert, but my second pick is.. ack, forgot the name, starts with a B)
- That company (that starts with a B?) also carries a Port cheddar I think, or something like that.
- Ooh, and a Boursin pepper cheese, more like a spread:

Boy, do I miss cheese!!

Oh, and I would serve it with some fruit, grapes, maybe apple slices?

My sister and I had this at V&As, where it was served with some dried figs, I believe. Best cheese I've ever, ever eaten. But maybe not obtainable by tomorrow night. Their Canadian retailer list says
Fiedler
Best baa farms
Max's market
Garden basket
Dags & willow
Bruno's (yonge)
David's fine dining
Buckingham meats

- Humboldt Fog - creamy and TASTY! Much better than Brie, IMO.

- St. Andre

- Pepper Jack?

Sorry to hear about the goat cheese distaste. :)

Is that all the wine that you'll have or will there be more from others? I would go with 2 or 3, probably a brie, maybe something herbed and a gouda. Where will you be purchasing these? Our grocery store has a cheese counter and will let me sample anything before buying. They're always really good with the recommendations, too!

I have no idea what you can get where you are so here are some of my faves.

I really like white stilton with apricots or cranberrys.

Soft cheese wise camembert and brie are very nice

Applewood do a nice cheddar if you can get it. Wensleydale and Cheshire cheeses are a good cheeseboard cheese too.

Yarg is worth a try if you can get it too.

The other fun cheese is a 5 counties which is basically a block of cheese from 5 counties in stripes.
