What basis is there for these doom predictions? The Mayan calendar runs out? So did my Wolf calender from 2007, doesn't mean it predicts anything ( ... )

They've most likely been fighting in that area since the Mayans were still actively using their calendar. This is nothing new, squabbles over there.

As people have said, the calendar on several of my computers ran out just over a decade ago... world didn't stop then either
