I've been replaying Hotel Dusk recently (mostly because I'm bored, also because I have a horrible feeling that the UK is going to get Last Window way later than anyone else... D:) and I've noticed that there are some really annoying game overs you can get, and some really awesome endings.

So, I'm curious to know which game over sequences or endings

I hated the game over you got if you had something on your person that incriminated you if you went downstairs with it. You just saw Dunning in the corridor as you reached the bottom and were all "OH SHII--!" and then you failed. I don't think you had the option to run back upstairs if I remember properly.

But when I first played the game that happened to me a few times because I always forgot an item or didn't know what Dunning reacted to. I was a noob, lol.

I share your pain/annoyance at us probably not getting LW for ages. I mean, they really screwed us over with the Phoenix Wright games and Animal Crossing, so.... :[

I think Dunning just came over and searched you, didn't he? Ugh, I had to use walkthroughs for that part... What I don't understand is how a tiny bit of paper (the memo) can get you thrown out, but the old photo and order sheet doesn't. ...It just bugs me...

I don't think the UK got Hotel Dusk until 2008. And I think it came out around 05-06, in Japan, didn't it? Ugh.. that really is depressing. But maybe because of the popularity/amount of fans in English-speaking countries, the game might get released in a shorter amount of time in English than Dusk was? I really hope so... :D

:B I never got a game over with Dunning finding something incriminating on me, because I AM A PARANOID BITCH who stashed everything in Kyle's suitcase automatically. PARANOIA WINS AT HOTEL DUSK! :D

:< But the NOISY FILE CABINET got me like six times for some reason - I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY I COULDN'T DO IT RIGHT, it just... took me a while. xD

However my most annoying one was the first time we meet Louie, if you let him go (like I did the second time I played to see what would happen), then go downstairs he's like "DUNNING LOOK OMG THERE HE IS HE'S A COOOPPP" and Dunning kicks yer ass out, leaving me all "LOUIE, I AM DISAPPOINT!" D:

For the Louis ending, I was so mad at him! I decided that I'd rat him out or tell him I'd told Dunning on him, but by the time I got there, he'd totally charmed me again! Dammit, Louis! >.< Can't a gamer have any kind of revenge on you?!

xD GAHAAA ME TOO. And I had just this weird idea that you could lift it up just a LITTLE and then somehow GRAB THE MEMO REALLY FAST.

... It didn't work, har.

AND YES. D: IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO STAY MAD AT HIM. Seriously, in my subsequent playthroughs I've WANTED to be mean to him because I've never done it before and want to see everything this game has to offer, but...

Louis is amazingly awesome! I keep meaning to just be a complete bastard to him, but he wins me over! :O I can't be mean to him, it's impossible!

getting locked in the basement vault.
the first time around i was like "WTF DO I DO I CAN'T CLICK ON ANYTHING OR DO ANYTHING WITH THIS DAMN COMPUTER ASDFGH;'ZXCVBN" and I DIED. I DIED IN A VAULT.

and then i went online and found out that the way to solve the puzzle in that room is with the blacklight you were supposed to get in the christmas tree room. BUT IT WAS TOTALLY POSSIBLE TO NOT HAVE THE LIGHT. so i had to like cheat and do other stuff. it was bad.

xD The first time I played, I had NO IDEA the blacklight even existed... and discovered that I could read what was on the paper by pure accident, just messing with my DS and looking at it from different angles for... some reason. 0_0

But yeah. Damn that basement vault! D:

That part really pissed me off! Plus, I'd SAVED in the vault! I had to do the whole game all over again! >_< I didn't know anything about what I had to do until I got fed up enough to use one of the game walkthroughs. Oh God. Now I'm starting to dread what Last Window has in store for me. D:

Actually, I'd like to think I was pretty clever at it, 'cause I only got caught with something on me once. I also died in the vault once 'cause I took too long to get the pencil thing ._.

I mostly got game overs 'cause I like harassing people. I always did it on purpose, but it was fun making people so angry with me I got kicked out XD

Those two parts were so frustrating for me! I had to resort to game guides... D:

I've started being a jerk to people, see how far I can go without being chucked out. Getting Rosa mad in the beginning is ridiculously easy! And that whole business with letting Louis go, and then he rats you out... I got really disappointed with him for that. I can't stay mad at Louis though... He's one of the coolest game characters ever! :3

I refuse to use walkthroughs, unless it's a ridiculously impossible game like Haunting Ground XD

And testing people is fun, isn't it?

The way some of the characters react... X3 I felt so badabout being mean to Helen straight afterwards, though. Most of the other characters are ridiculously fun to wind up! :D

The most funniest game over (in my opinion) is when Summer comes down after you've finished eating (or drinking) and I think one of the options is you told someone about his plagiarizing, he leaves, you and Dunning have a drink, and then it's game over. That cracked me up, plus it's probably the most depressed I've ever seen Kyle look.

I always wondered why Kyle was so depressed there... I mean, he gets free drinks, doesn't he? And Dunning is his best friend when Summers leaves... Probably the best game over for Kyle- everyone's pretty happy (or at least not too depressed) and he doesn't die! :D

Weirdly enough, for me when he dies isn't as depressing as when he just goes back to his room and becomes a loner. THOSE gameovers make me really depressed on Kyle's behalf. >.< What's worse is I have no idea why!
