M emailed me and said that Kei passed away at 12am Cape Town time. She was admitted to the hospital July 20th for what we thought was persistent pneumonia. They decided to do a CT scan as they thought it was potentially a blood clot in the lung. The CT revealed a large mass in one of her lungs in addition to the pnemonia and multiple lesions on her

I am so sorry for your loss Red. I know you have been hit harder than any of us.
We have lost a dear lady who, for me at least, was the absolute queen of the LOTR fandom.

I'm so, so sorry, Red. I've just opened LJ and started reading the posts and crying, in bloody shock, and you were the first person to come to my mind. Your friendship was so beautiful, long and deep as they should be. Kei's death is such an incredible loss for us all but all the more to you. I'm so, so sorry.
