Western New York is God's Country, and for all those who have never visited Buffalo, in my own particular way I pity you. For all of those who have never seen the majesty of Niagara Falls, I daresay you haven't quite yet lived. I've only been here like seven days and I've already went over in a barrel like THREE TIMES (twice without any clothes on ( Read more... )

Ahhhhhh, I am once of the select few who have been to Niagra Falls and Buffalo.

Remind me to watch Niagra with Marilyn Monroe anytime soon again ....

Yeah? I never knew that..I thought the breadth of your experiences in the United States had to do with the general vicinity of your fiance (my heartfelt congratulations with that, btw, if I haven't wished it already..and in my state it's hard to say whether I've done so or not). :)

I actually drove through Indiana the other day and thought of you..going through the Hoosier State and thinking about German girls, who would've thought?

Actually I have seena lot of the USA because I have been there before I met Tony :)

Nice that you were thinking of me while driving through the Hoosier State, you are the best.

Funny you should use the word "exploits."

Nah, just kidding. Thanks for the well wishes, darlin'.

I've missed you so much my little dumpling...

Had you never been to western NY? God's country? Kind of a stretch, don't you think? What's really nice is that stretch around Erie, PA that you probably drove over...one of the nicer parts of the eastern US...right up there with West Virginee.

You're last bit it so emo...classic. Hope you're enjoying laying pipe around town and getting yourself an autographed, game worn, Drew Bledsoe jersey.

Nah, never been here before, not even close. Buffalo kind of strikes me as more Midwestern than I had initially thought, with only a hint of the typical New Yorkness..oddly enough, I feel strangely comfortable here, and I haven't even laid down any pipe yet. Nor do I really plan to. The women here frighten me.

The only thing I remember about Erie was pumping gas, and there was all these Amish kids hanging out in the parking lot. And the gas station was playing Huey Lewis VERY LOUD. I don't plan on going back to Pennsylvania, like, EVER.

The Bills can blow me.

The parts along Erie where you can see the lake through the foothills are scenic, though. Western PA and NY are the same...Pittsburgh and Buffalo are like the same town, although Pitt is a little more scenic and warmer. And they don't have any large waterfalls.

If you've never been to Buffalo, does that mean you've never been to Toronto? That's a fucking city worth seeing. Imagine a slightly smaller, cleaner Chicago. It's only like an hour away.

I know! Toronto has been calling me, although I haven't done it yet. I so want to go there. I just went over to the Ontario side of Niagara yesterday, to check that out..and even though it is Canada, it's still a little frightening going into a different country alone..at least for me. My roommate's been busy with getting her PhD and teaching and so forth, so I've been running around WNY by myself for the most part.

But really though, it's all beautiful around here. The rural areas I've seen are pleasant on par with the one I came from in MO.

Hey- there is good eating up there! No sweet tea but Toronto is awesome and only 2 hours away. Take a drive to Toronto and go through Youngstown or Yorktown (can't remember) but you crest a mountian and see the Toronto Skyline. Awesome. Forest Hills Cemetary...enjoy.
My family is all over Buffalo- Depew & Lancaster. Have a slice of pizza at John and Mary's for me adn drink your heart out on Cherry Crush- YUM and eat some sponge candy!! Maybe I'll bump into you sometime. I visit about every two years or so.

Glad you like it. Watch out for Nov-March though...BRR!

Heh, you've been pretty much reading my mind..I've been rearin' at the bit to go to Toronto and parts around, and I had every opportunity to cross over at the Falls, but I was by myself. I was like, "Do I really want to go to a foreign country..alone..even if it IS just Canada?" So I just bought some taffy and went home.

And whoa, I didn't know you were originally from around here. You don't have that..accent. Specifically I live in North Buffalo, near like Kenmore and Tonawanda. Like the corner of Hertel and Delaware. :)

And yeah, I've heard the winters here sort of seperate the men from the boys..brr, indeed.

Oh, I know where Tonawanda is and I know how to say it!
I never lived there- my mom and dad and all my family excluding me and my sis.
