Another request put forth in the feedback poll was a better way to find rec sites by fandom. A few of you suggested that all posts be tagged by fandom instead of only New Rec Site posts and Updated Info posts. The thing about doing that is, well, it's not very effective in the sense that it will be cluttered and that LJ has a 100 posts limit for ( Read more... )

This is eleven million different kinds of awesome.

Just one small thing - for unfitforsociety/http://del.icio.us/recsrainbow/unfitforsociety - Stargate: Atlantis listed, and I don't read or rec in that fandom (well, there was that one crossover once), and Supernatural is not listed, and the bulk of my recs for the past six months or so have been in Supernatural.

Thanks for doing all this!

Good lord, sweetie. How on earth do you have time to test for me? This is a work of obsessive LOVE. Awesome.

Hee! Testing for you is like my reward for making progress with this. And this project is obsessive, so very obsessive.

Well, I use del.icio.us to tag things, and I tag mostly fanfic, but it's not just recs. Also I bookmark a few non-fanfic pages from time to time. Anyway, unsurprisingly my name there is ratcreature.

The del.icio.us account doesn't have to be for reccing, it could be just a reading list as long as it's fannish for the most part. I'll add you on to the network. Thanks!

You have a typo in one tag:

"TerryPratchett/Discoword" should be "TerryPratchett/Discworld"

Also the tags for my site (http://del.icio.us/recsrainbow/nomads_gen_recs) seem to include all my minor fandoms but not the major ones. (I guess you went straight to the Misc Fandoms list and accidentally skipped over the main index.) They should also list:

- AngeltheSeries
- BuffytheVampireSlayer(tv)
- DueSouth
- HarryPotter
- Stargate:Atlantis
- Stargate:SG-1
- StarWars
- WestWing

This is a great resource, which must have been an absolute nightmare to compile! I must admit I don't get on with the del.icio.us navigation at all, but having that full list of fandoms there to read at a glance is a thing of beauty.

Also, I'd suggest that perhaps you could amend the "Fandom List" section in your email template to ask people to list any new fandoms they've added since their last update? I don't know if it's a terribly practical thing to require, but it would save you having to manually check the update list against the existing tags every

Oi! I'll go and fix it now! Thanks!

That's a great idea, but I don't know if it's practical thing to require either. I'll sit on it. Thank you.

Now I want to read a Pratchett story called "Discoword" -- or even "Discoworld".
