My friend Elyse gave me this one:

*The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you can't go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.*

My only question in response to your entry then would be then how in world would we recall mistakes made in the past if we've forgotten them? a.k.a. does this mean we are destined to repeat our mistakes?

good point, good point. Basically, I take it to mean that you have to chalk things up to experience; you can't keep dwelling on a past that didn't go the way you expected it to. You have to live in the furture.

Actually, live in the present my friend, with the future in sight and the past in farthest place at the back of your mind so that you can access it when you need it. Why? Because you live in a demanding society which increases it's expectations of you everyday and in order for you to meet those expectations you have to live in here and now, but but for you to get less caught up in this madness that is society, you must up goals for yourself and this is your future -be it near or far. Your excellent answer comes in here the past only becomes as accessible as you want it to be because when a situation arises if you have any experience regarding it, the past should be there to equip with the tools you need to handle it.
