i want to hear the rant about beheading american business men. as if i wasn't already completely undecided on the usefulness/advantages/purpose of this war.
i was pretty shocked, upon stumbling groggily downstairs this morning, to find out about all of that. it's really getting out of hand. and that's an understatement. moral ambiguity. for real.
You're preaching to the choir, Pastor Chance. Find some people who don't already agree with you to rant to.
Also, it doesn't matter if Rummy directly authorized the treatment of prisoners or not. He was the authority in charge of the military and if he failed to anticipate or prevent the abuse of Iraqis he is responsible for the consequences. But I think it will be better that he doesn't resign, because now he is just another Albatross weighing down the Bush campaign. Along with Cheney and Ashcroft this 'Triumverate of Terror' ought to keep Bush from any chance of reelection.
The real tragedy is that the Democratic Party has yet to provide any real opposition to the most polarizing President in our history. There are some really likeable Democrats who could blow Bush away, but unfortuanately they weren't much involved in 2000 and there isn't anything much they can do now except attack administration officials in Commission hearings, which they are doing.
and, on likeable democrats...this senator byden (maybe i misspelled his name) character seems pretty on top of shit. he's been tearing it up on the foreign relations committee. hell, i'd vote for hillary. i'm not opposed to kerry, but i dont think he's really the best candidate ever. what makes him great is...he's not bush.
