2.00 [Audio] Overabundance of Curiosity

Jun 28, 2010 17:44

So. I've been hearing a lot about this non-permanent death thing. Also been trolling through some of the old entries...

[Riley seems rather amused at this point.]

The captain seems to be punishing quite a lot of you for violence.

Well, I've got a deal for you all. I'd like to see how this whole dying thing goes and since some of you just can't ( Read more... )

death the new frontier, is it bravery or stupidity?, audio, i'll try anything once

Is that wise?

[You silly humans and your curiosity. Really.]

I'm twenty one. I'm too young to be wise, Godric.

[Riley's grinning ear to ear, and it's likely very apparent in her tone of voice.]

I figure since it's not permanent, why not try? Someone can get their kicks, punishment-free, while I satisfy my curiosity. It's win-win.

As you wish.

[He sounds more amused than anything, though.]

Should you wish anyone present during this trial to enforce the predetermined rules of engagement, you need only ask.

[Because depending on who she giddy-ups with, there are several residents of the boat he wouldn't trust farther than he could throw them. Admittedly he could probably throw them a ways. BUT STILL.]

Oh, well that's nice of you to offer. Sure, if you don't mind I'd appreciate the help.

[She's rather surprised at the offer, but has no problem accepting. This isn't the smartest offer she's made but well...curiosity wins out over most things in the end.]

Say, you've lived a few more years than me. Seen more of this world. Have any suggestions as to how I get offed?

You know, I don't know if deaths are punished if they're accidental or not...

I, uh, would advise against getting yourself killed, but I doubt that'd make a difference.

It's more like an assisted suicide when you get down to it...

The advice is appreciated in any case, but I'm going to see if I get any interesting offers.

True, but you reminded me of something that slipped my mind. No idea if there'd be punishment for that, but I know--which I guess you do too by now?--that fights that all parties agree upon aren't punished.

*Mostly, he's just going to be trying to stalk to see how this ends up :3 But Marco sorta likes Riley*

Just remember that it still hurts. Just cause you come back in a day doesn't mean the pain cuts out before your brainwaves do. I'm sure you'll get something soon enough.

I'm sure that most methods will hurt, but that's the price to pay for the adventure.

[Riley rather likes how helpful Marco is. He's an excellent source of information and easy to talk to. She's also rather appreciative of the fact that he's not calling her an idiot outright. Nothing wrong with manners, right?]

I'm also guessing you're not going to offer any ideas for me, right?

I haven't been diagnosed as such, no.

Then you understand what you are offering the people of this ship. You are offering to let them kill you. Where is your sense of self-preservation?

I am offering permission to one person I choose.

[She figured someone might get gung-ho and try anyway, even without permission, but she was new enough that no one probably knew who she was. The chances were cut down dramatically.

If they found her and killed her, well, it would be another experience.]

As for self-preservation, well, I'm going to come back so what's the big deal?

If you do end up getting someone... can I watch?

Pretty much. If I'm going to come back anyway, why not?

Maybe, maybe not. It's my choice, just like you have your own. I for one, am not going to be satisfied with second-hand accounts. We have more than enough of those on my world.
