Hey, saw on RVA you graduated from Hermitage, was curious what year. I do know of the Flop Mops, and the infamous "poop" on the trays. What's Jordan's last name (if I can ask, if I can't, no prob!)
I didn't graduate from Hermitage; Jordan (last name Lewis) was class of 2003. He is now at VCU as a bio-medical engineering major. What are you majoring in? What's your connection to the Flop Mop?
Don't really remember him too well.. but the name sounds very familiar. I'm majoring in English. My connection to the Flop Mop was limited to seeing the 'poop' written on the trays. So how did you get into teaching English in Venezuala?
Jordan and I both visited Venezuela in 2000. We were hosted by a native YWAM (Youth With A Mission) family that lived in Richmond for a few years, attending our church. During those two weeks, we visited orphanages, hospitals, did street shows, and worked with kids.
In 2004, I had decided to go and live in Venezuela with the same family. Jordan was considering his options following graduation from high school. I jokingly suggested that he come with me to VZ; and he agreed! So off we went. We taught English in a school started by the missionary family and hosted a weekly English discipleship club that we started. In the meantime, I took Spanish classes (I didn't have the 4 years of high school Spanish like Jordan did) and spent a month in bed recovering from a near-fatal bout with amoebic dysentery.
