The first thing people notice about House is his cane. Their eyes are drawn to the outward symbol of his disability and they think, “cripple.” What they can’t see is the brilliant mind and caustic wit, and that gives House an advantage in every new encounter he has. It is the only benefit he has gained from the infarcation - that and good parking spots.
