My House M.D. Recs Table

Claim: House, M.D., General Series
Title: "the slow pace of the body that skin is"
Author: alibi-factory
Characters: House, Wilson
Prompt: 19. Dark.
Rating: PG
Length: medium
Brief summary: I love hearing about House as a kid and how it informs on who he is as a character now. This fic is a picture perfect example of that, showing us House's childhood in Egypt and his relationship with Wilson now. The fic is a little dark and depressing, but I think that's the only way it could be. Besides which - it's lovely anyway.

Claim: House, M.D., General Series
Title: "the biggest lie"
Author: mojokitten
Characters: House, Cameron, Wilson
Prompt: 21. Epiphany.
Rating: PG-13
Length: medium
Brief summary: I don't mind House/Cameron. Especially not when it's done like this. Both of them fumbling, maybe coming to the realization that they can only hurt each other. The fic is tense and subtle, which really reminds me of the writing on the show. Loved it.

The sex is isolating. An absence of intimacy. He imagines saying this to her tomorrow without irony, an absence of intimacy. He could rest an awkward hand on her shoulder. She could bite her lip. Wilson could interrupt them, walking into House’s office on some unrelated matter. He could sense his badly timed arrival and look at them both with an expression that fumbled for neutrality. ‘Ah,’ he could say, and walk out again. That’s the last time he would count on him for an easy escape.
