Length: Medium.
Brief summary: Dani breaks up with Chris, and weeks later, Chris gets depressed. Joey has been in love with Chris for as long as he can remember, so when Chris shows in his doorstep, he gives Chris the space he needs to mend. There aren’t fireworks, and everything seems to proceed so naturally, that I can’t help but recommend this fic. Particulary for Joey’s point of view, which is really heartwarming. Another thing to note is that, even when it’s a romantic fic, the revelations are done in such a matter-of-fact way, that it’s a very refreshing change.

It was an old thing, his thing for Chris. He couldn't remember exactly when it happened, because he can't remember a time that his band mate didn't affect him in some way.
Joey wasn't one to moon, to admire from afar, to suffer quietly, so everyone but Chris knew and Joey almost hoped that one of them would accidentally spill it sometime. The idea of actually telling Chris terrified him. Hiding his feelings had become old habit.
It wasn't that he didn't want Chris to know. But he was pretty certain that Chris wouldn't want to know.
Joey had never tried to hide his sexuality. He had a boyfriend when they started, and had gone through several since. In between, he'd continued to pick up women in the clubs and had an 'understanding' with Kelly, a friend of his from before the group. Most of the time the other guys had helped cover for him in front of fans and management.

Title: Out of Reach
Author: lilysaid
Characters: Chris, Joey, Lance, JC, Justin
Prompt: 32. Secrets
Rating: R
Length: Short.
Brief summary: Chris wants Joey, JC knows, Joey doesn’t. Joey is straight, but really flirty, and that’s the plot of the story in very broad strokes. It’s between funny and hot and sad and sweet, because Chris really suffers for his unrequited love, since Joey is completely clueless and the flirting is anything but harmless. And Joey _is_ straight. Which makes everything extremely complicated. The best part is that it works. The story works, and it doesn’t feel like it’s cheating by the time you get to the end.

“Thirty-three sixty-nine,” the saleswoman says, bored, and while she’s breaking open a new roll of quarters, Joey leans in from behind Chris, mouth against Chris’ ear. Chris is aware of the faint clink of his earrings against Joey’s lips, but it’s almost immediately swallowed by the “Sixty-nine,” that Joey hisses, right into his ear.
It’s a hot breath of hotter innuendo, and goosebumps race across Chris’ skin, sweeping through him so swiftly that he’s getting hard even before Joey pulls away, chuckles trailing behind in little aftershocks of sensation. Even as he takes his change from the cashier, he’s reeling from the sudden reminder of wanting what he can’t have. He forces his face into a smile because that’s what Joey is expecting, and follows him out of the store on wobbly legs.
Later, when he locks the door to JC’s room and gives him a play-by-play recreation of the scenario, JC just frowns. “How did he do it again?” he asks, and Chris whispers into his ear twice before he catches JC shivering and leaning into the touch. “You ass,” he says, shaking his head, but he gets the point. He’s so distracted by this thing with Joey; he doesn’t even notice a dork like JC yanking his chain. It’s hard to get JC to take him seriously sometimes, but he’s the only one Chris can talk about it with, even if he is a sick bastard who gets off on the suffering of his best friend.
