The first thing Castiel will come to learn is this: there is an abundance of loneliness in glory.
This is the first fic I've read from this year's DCBB, and I am so glad I did. I usually prefer stories involving when/how Dean and Cas first become romantically/physically involved, so this one being an "established" relationship had me a bit wary, at first. But the warmth and quiet happiness that is their relationship in this story had me hooked almost from the beginning. The writer shows just how easy and simple it could be for them, Team Free Will living a life on the road together, going from hunt to hunt. It makes it all the more painful to see them separated in a surprising twist, but the writer uses this twist wonderfully to prove that no matter how long they're apart, they will always make their way back to each other.
