Not quite near the chocolate fountain really, more in the kitchen giving either (a) scoldings or (b) last-minute pep-talk to the minions she'd selected to ensure that food and service would be fabulous for the night.

Bianchi stepped back into the hall once she was confident that all was finally well, one hand absent-mindedly smoothing down the sleeve of her black and gold kimino dress. She scanned the crowd for any familiar faces and smiled when her eyes alighted on one.

"So we're painting the town red?" The clicking of her favorite gold high-heeled sandals came to a stop as she took her place at her partner-in-crime's side.

"Sei favolosa, Lissuria." She greeted the fashion editor with a brief peck on the cheek.

"Oh! Sei proprio come favoloso, Contessa. È sembrano indossare abiti giapponesi come bene!" The diva leaned to give his dear dear friend two fashionable kisses on the cheek. It has been a while since the two had seen each other, a fabulous friendship born from different galas and parties much like this one.

As he took a champagne flute from a waiter who seemed to have a bum that ran 12 miles a day, Lissuria turned to his friend to whisper, "Well, the party looks swinging dahling. I cannot keep my eyes some of the fresh meat here, if you know what I mean."

Bianchi couldn't hold back the smile that curled cattishly on her mouth. "It's good to see that you're the same as always."

"And I'm glad you think I carry this little dress well enough." The Italian looped her arm through Lissuria's, an old habit, a comfortable one. "Ho comprato alcuni mesi fa, ma non riuscivo a trovare l'opportunità di indossare esso. Sembrava perfetto per l'occasione."

Occasion, occasion. Lissuria wondered, what was the occasion? He knew that this was a gala, but for what, he did not remember. Who were the people around here and what was in it for him other than spending some lovely time with his fabulously darling friend? As a man who rarely read the finer details of an invite, a gala only meant wearing fashionable clothes and looking at the fashionable people.

He pivoted his toes and clicked his heels as he turned to Bianchi with a question, "So, are we here to pick up men, or we here to pick on men?"
