I finished Ven's Story several days ago, but didn't post. I'll throw that up really quick then. Right now I'm struggling with Aqua's NOT because of different stats and abilities (though that's taking getting used to) but due to a sheer lack of time. One day all I did was grind. To answer the question about Vanitas looking like Sora, Nomura said yeah. Vanitas was apparently blank when he was first made, then Sora's heart influenced how he would eventually look.

Honestly...it's not as big of a spoiler as they made it out to be, what Vanitas looks like without the mask on. O.o

Eh, sorta. Not overly surprising, and the real treat was putting the face and voice together. Oh, and seeing the crazy looks. That was fun.

I swear, I just realized that my Vanitas muse formed during the D-link part of the battle.

Ven is SOOOOOO ADORABLE AND FFFFF

Wait, did you die on the final battle with Vanitas? /o_O\ That battle was both really easy and really strange for me. I opened with a shotlock that nearly did him in, then had to do the weird d-link part, during which I flipped the PSP over a few times just so I could do the "push him off with the analog stick" part.

- I don't think Vanitas is technically a part of Sora...both his body and his heart (and if you count secret bosses, his spirit) were defeated, so if he even is there, he's probably completely inconsequential/nullified.

- And yes, Vanitas looks like Sora because baby!Sora connected his heart to Ven, and that in turn made Vanitas look like Sora at Ven's age.

- I'm guessing those promo videos were another one of those scenes that never made it in...they never had the scene with normal-sized!Ven seeing Cinderella at the ball, either.

Yep, sure did. A few times, just trying to figure it out. I think the main difference between why you did better is that I tend to forget Shotlocks even exist. XD; Aqua made me use them more just in typical battle, so I think this may change...

Or if there is a tiny Vanitas in there, it'll die the moment Sora smiles at it and asks if they can be friends. XD;

Okay, I actually cheated and read the book on that boss battle, and it was like "DON'T BOTHER TRYING TO HURT HIM, JUST CHARGE YOUR COMMAND DECK AND USE VANITAS'S FINISHER." So I was focusing mostly on that. o_o And yeah, I didn't use them much with Terra, but I started to fall in love with shotlocks with Ven, and then by Aqua I was using them a bunch.

I dunno, I think even Sora would be a little weirded out by Vanitas. |D

Yeeeeaaaaah, you know how I typically use guides. Fight the boss and then see how THEY did it. Ven I used Shotlocks a little more, but it's Aqua I really needed to use 'em.

Hmm, very true, but the idea of Sora killing something with a smile is amusing.

Ventus is also less secure than Sora, actively stepping out to make friends to gain that comfort. Sora doesn’t try to make friends. It just happens for him, and Sora doesn’t mind one bit.

I particularly like Lynx's assessment of this: that Ven has Sora's desire for/love of friends and Roxas' rotten luck with people.

His may be evidence of no darkness in his heart.

That's because Xehanort ripped it out of him to form Vanitas. 8D;;;

Terra seemed to see visions of the future while Ven often seemed to see the past. ...Why.Oh, this is officially my favorite bit of headcanon ever. XD From what I can figure, every Keyblade wielder has had some sort of secondary power as well. Xehanort is an earthbender and/or a body snatcher (...frigging creep), Terra's precognitive, Ven is retrocognitive, Sora can connect with others' hearts, Kairi is a Princess of Heart, and Riku

Earthbender/body snatcher... XD LAWLS Actually, that makes a good degree of sense! I never really thought of secondary abilities, but yeah, and especially with Sora and his connections to hearts. I swear, all Sora has to do is LOOK at someone and he could D-link without Aqua's magic at this rate, I swear. Random stranger: ...? Sora: :D I touched your heart! Stranger: ...Personal space?
