FIC: Serious, From There to Here, Daniel/Joanne, M

Ugh. I am a total loser who has no patience and wrote Daniel/Joanne fic before waiting to see how From There to Here ends. I think I'm just expecting to have all my feels ripped out and stomped on, so I somehow magically produced a 2,000 word fic in about 4 hours. There is early relationship fluff and smut and Daniel feels.

Awwwww!!!! Very sweet. I really liked the insight into his mind and how everything with Joanne is right; how he recognises her strength and happiness despite the two jobs, raising two teenage boys alone (one with special needs), and perhaps not living in the best part of town. And he's rich, the heir to the candy fortune with a wife who loves him, kids who are successful, grandchildren, and a father he clearly adores, even if they don't alway get along, and he's absolutely miserable just existing in that life. He's weakened by it and he knows it, and he's just existing.

Totally bracing myself for the last ep. At least you provided the fluff. :)

I actually feel like I need this fluff less *now* than I did before the last episode, but I'm still glad I wrote it and I actually ended up feeling sort of... validated? Hard to explain; you may not have watched yet, but the emotional content in this did ultimately jive pretty well with some of the feels we got during the finale.

Speaking of watching... I ended up going to bed super early last night (suppose you could still technically call it 'tonight'), but I've got a file if you want it! Not sure if you've had a chance to tune in on iPlayer, but I'm up for a re-watch in the morning! <333333

I did end up really enjoying this show; the performances were pretty great all 'round and it was honestly very satisfying to see Phil and Liz on screen together! Plus it totally poked me in the 90s feels-- the timespan where the series was set was very formative for me (it covers 1996 - 2000 which coincidentally happen to be the exact years where I was in high school! lol). On top of being in Manchester so recently, there was just a lot going on here for me. There could even be more fic forthcoming, once I get a chance to digest a bit!

Yessss yes yes yes yes. I like this a whole lot (thank you for sharing it with me last night <33333). I love how Daniel sees Joanne -- all of her strengths, really. And everything is so complicated and wonderful. Uggggh. This though, it's sensual and gorgeous and I absolutely ADORE the way it ends. Sometimes I think Daniel is doing all the wrong things but for the right reasons.

The finale is going to kill us all. *braces self*

Daniel is such a total idiot but I really do kind of relate to him. Not sure what that says about my life, but oh well! XDDDD

There are just so many more good fic opportunities for this pairing now that the series has wrapped up, I'm kinda stoked that I've been left with so much possible material to contemplate. I've got *cogitates slowly* three ideas forming already that I can think of off the top of my head. >:D

Thanks for being my tasting panel for this, and for keeping me semi-sane during all my recent bouts of drunkenness and Daniel feels (oh how the two seem to go hand in hand). LOL!

Daniel is an immensely frustrating character and yes-- a totally gorgeous idiot. LOL!

However, getting into his head a bit was rather rewarding. Especially since the emotional tone of this didn't end up being all that far off from some of the explanations we got in the final episode. Also I had guessed quite a few of everyone else's secrets so I was feeling pretty pleased with myself by the time it was over! XD

Now I'm not going to have Phil on my screen twice a week anymore? What the heck am I supposed to do now??? Oh, right. Roll around in feels and write more fan fiction. I'll get right on it!
