i'd love to hear the issues you're having. one of my friends living here used to live in canada and he always talks about how much better it is in canada!
ok, i might have been exaggerating a little, but also, quebec medicine is even different from the rest of canada (like everything else)
you can't ever see a doctor.
you have to make an appointment (e.g. no walk-ins) and HOPE that the nurse practitioner has open spots for you that day at your local CLSC (centre local de services communautaires). if they do, you go and wait, and if they decide that you're sick enough to see a doctor, they'll schedule an appointment with THEM at another time, usually another DAY, if there's no doctor on staff that day

i went back again today armed with more knowledge and ALL my paperwork, thinking maybe it was just a mistake. that they thought i was visiting, but not a permanant resident.
nope. they still turned me away. and now i'm convinced that it's discrimination. i am LIVID.
