Hee. So that's why Helo doesn't sleep around on Galactica. :D
Again, love your Helo, and I cherish all the little details, like the fact that Sharon would be able to sit in that uncomfortable position for so long. The last scene was especially heartbreaking and tender.
Well, I always wondered why he wound up on Galactica- he's obviously competent, with occasional crusading tendencies, and based on the history we all accept for him.......well, what girl don'tcha know?
Yeah, that last one turned out to be one of my best pieces; just grabbed the characters and wrote....... And I don't even LIKE Lee Adama all that much!
Lovely all around, especially the last one. The overtones of anguish perfectly captures the raw pain left in the wake of Kara's death and so many great touches enrich this all the more, particularly the seamlessly incorporated reference to Sharon's Cylon-ness through Karl's memory of being comforted by his wife and Felix's offer of the handkerchief. Also, the comparison of Apollo to a cat so nicely fits.
Finally, the ending, for all of the sorrow that's interwoven into it is just beautiful, for the sense of a tempest finally breaking and passing and for the vast patience and compassion that's Karl all over.
