Opeth and stuff.

So, the only thing interesting in my life recently is that I saw Opeth and Katatonia in concert monday night. Knocking two more bands off of my "I need to see these bands before I die."

Katatonia kicked ass. Opeth was awesome except that they didn't play any metal, which was a bit of a disappointment. This was their first show in a world tour and ( Read more... )

Thanks!

She died in '09 right after we graduated high school. So, it's better now, easy. But it's hard sometimes.
Yesterday would have been her twentith birthday, so that was a little hard to think about. She was a great person and I never get tired of talking about her.

That is my jealousy you feel burning. I have never been a huge Opeth fan but I saw them once in concert and it was amazing. Enslaved opened up for them were just great to watch. At least until I got hurt being too near the pit.
Sorry about your friend. It is hard to lose someone with no warning like that. It is really hard to see the roadside crosses that someone cared enough to put up rotting away.

I saw Ensiferum and Finntroll earlier this year, and one of the bands that opened for them (Rotten Sound) had a nasttty pit. My friend and I were close to the stage, and the pit was kind of behind us? but we were still too close and she ended up getting kicked in the head, and had a minor concussion. So, for Ensiferum she was in the bathroom trying not to puke, and for Finntroll she was in my car. So, since I had lost my spot near the front of the stage to go check on her and such. I watched the concert from the bass side of the stage behind the crowd where I could barely see anything.
It was still a kickass show though.

It is just sort of the risk that goes with those type of shows. I have gotten hurt a few times. Luckily that time it was just getting kicked in the ankle really hard when I caught a guy who was falling.
