I am on vacation and I am backpacking through Guatemala right now on the gringo trail. I have been here a week and I have had a blast. I was hosted by a Guatemalan couchsurfer that I met last summer in Guatemala City, which I am not going to lie is a pretty scary place. My husband and I are hopefully going to Guatemala in December. My friend is in the Peace Corps over there. I can't wait. She has mentioned the ruins in Tikal and is in fact going to take us to Honduras.

You are going to love Guatemala and you are going at a much better time than me because it is rainy season right now. You should check out some of the many cool ecolodges here which are very cheap to stay. There are just too many things to see in Guate.
