I absolutely love your Jim's experience with Tarsus. Truly one of a kind. I love his quiet strength and it so very Jim. And I just love what you did with this line here,

It's against Ferengi nature - well, mostly culture - they're always about the bottom line, but there'd been only a few non-humans on the colony and eugenics tends to take a pretty dim view of aliens in general.

Just one sentence but it speaks volumes.
